Stuck on which pitching mound you should buy? Choosing the right pitching mound can be a tough decision when there are so many choices out there. That is why we are here to help. Our goal is to help you narrow down your options and find a mound that you will be satisfied with. The first thing that needs to be decided is what the age group is that will be using the mound. Here at pitching machines now we have options for every pitching mound height.

There are 4 different pitching mound heights that are used in baseball:

  • Our smallest option is the 4-inch mound. These are all step off mounds so players will be pitching from the rubber and landing in the dirt. The 4-inch mounds are extremely portable and this makes them great for younger players and training.

  • Portable Pitching Mound
  • The next size up from the 4-inch mound are the 6-inch mounds. Six inches is the regulation size for little league players. Here at Pitching Machines Now we offer a huge selection of 6-inch mounds.

    • One of the great options for a 6-inch mounds that we offer is the ProMounds Major league mound. It is super portable, can be used indoors and outdoors, and can be used for practice or a game mound.

    • Another big seller that we offer is the Pitch Pro model 486 Portable Pitching Mound. It is the same mound as the Pitch Pro Model 465 except for the fact that it is longer. The positives of having the longer mound means that pitchers will land on the actually mound and not in the dirt when they are pitching. This makes a huge difference when it comes to making artificial mounds have the real mound feel!

  • The next size up for pitching mounds are the 8 inch mounds. These are used for players that are in the transition from little league to a full sized 60/90 field. Most of the time that players will come across an 8-inch mound will be on a 50/70 sized field. Going from a 6-inch to an 8-inch versus a 6-inch to a 10-inch mound is a great way to gradually groom players for a regulation sized field.
